The Complete Online Course in Personal Property Appraising

EXAM INSTRUCTION and REGISTRATION FORM

The Complete Online Course in Personal Property Appraising makes use of two "closed-book" exams. Passing grade is 75%. Exams and related material are sent to the proctor in .pdf format via email. Once taken, exams are mailed back to Appraisal Course Associates for grading.

The student must register separately for each exam and pay a $75 exam processing fee to Appraisal Course Associates (ACA) for each exam. The exams are completed in the presence of a local proctor. Proctors can be public, private or military librarians; counselors at independent learning centers; public or private high schools counselors; counselors at military base testing centers; and counselors in public or private secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, colleges and universities. The student will be responsible for any fees that might be charged by the proctor including postage for the return of completed exams to Appraisal Course Associates.

Each exam consists of 100 multiple choice and T/F questions. Three (3) hours are allowed to take the exam. The first exam will be based on material covered in course Lessons 1 through 5. The second exam will be based on material covered in Lessons 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11. (Lessons 7, 12, and 13 are not testable). Testing policy. What do the two locally-proctored exams cover?

Please complete and submit the below form along with your $75 payment to the address listed below. Be sure to schedule the date for your exam with your proctor and have the proctor sign the statement at the bottom of this form.

____ I have enclosed a check or money order for $75.

____ I have already paid the fee of $75 via PayPal.

I understand that I will be responsible for any additional fees that might be charged by the proctor, including postage to return completed exams to ACA.

When ready to take the exam, contact your proctor of choice and get his or her approval to act as proctor. In addition, set up an examination date.

Scheduled exam date: _______________________

Submit this exam registration approximately two weeks prior to the scheduled exam date. The examination packet will be emailed to the proctor in .pdf format upon receipt of this exam registration form and the accompanying check for $75 (if payment has not already been made via PayPal). The proctor will then administer the exam and return the completed exam to the ACA by regular mail for grading.

Note: Do not submit this application until you are prepared to take the exam and the exam date has been set and confirmed with your proctor. You will have 30 days beyond the scheduled exam date to complete the exam and have the results returned to the ACA. If the exam results are not returned to the ACA within this 30-day period, the exam must be returned by your proctor to ACA regardless. Should you fail to take the exam within this 30 day period, you must reapply to take it again and must pay the $75 processing fee again.

Proctors often offer their service at no charge, but proctoring fees may be charged. The student is responsible for paying for any fees the proctor may charge. The ACA will email your proctor the exam materials including a Proctor Certification form. When the exam has been completed, the proctor is to return the completed exam along with the signed Proctor Certification form to the ACA.

I agree to act as proctor for the above student and to administer the requested exam in accordance with the following procedures set forth by the course provider, Appraisal Course Associates:

I agree to print out and inspect the emailed examination packet (which I understand will be emailed to me in .pdf format) upon its arrival from the ACA office to ensure that it includes the cover letter from the ACA, the examination, and the Proctor's Affadavit. I will meet the student on the above noted scheduled exam date at the appointed place. I will proctor the examination, and upon its completion I will collect the exam and return it, along with the completed Proctor's Affadavit, to the ACA by regular mail. Any postage fees I incur are to be reimbursed to me by the student. As requested, I will make a confidential photocopy of the exam and keep it for a period of sixty days to be used in case the original is lost in the mail. After the 60-day period, I will destroy the exam photocopy. If the examination, for whatever reason, is not taken within 30 days of the above noted scheduled exam date, I will return the examination packet to the ACA.
