Part II "USPAP" (taught days 5 & 6)
Part II of this course is the 15-hour National Uniform Standards
of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course, taught by
Certified Instructor
(#10138), Bill Novotny, ISA AM, GCA. The course, is designed to
aid personal property appraisers seeking competency in USPAP
and focuses
on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance
by appraisers that are set forth in USPAP.
The course emphasizes the role of the appraiser and the impartiality and independence associated with this role. In addition to lectures, the course includes discussion examples that show how USPAP applies to situations that personal property appraisers encounter in everyday practice. This two-day course is uniquely focused on personal property and is highlighted with many examples from personal property appraisal practice. (Because of its focus on personal property, this course is not suitable for real property appraisers.)
The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice have been endorsed and adopted by major appraisal organizations of the United States and Canada. As required by federal law, USPAP must be used by states in their real estate appraiser certification programs. Please note that the USPAP course we offer will not be applicable to real property appraisers who must pass USPAP to become state certified.
This course provides 15 hours of instruction in USPAP and includes a one-hour, 50 question multiple-choice final exam. Should a student require retesting, Appraisal Course Associates has established a USPAP Exam Retake Program.
Part II makes use of the current (2008-2009) version of The Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) which the student must bring to class. See registration details.
