ACA's Online USPAP Update CoursesThese USPAP update courses are designed to aid appraisers remain current in their knowledge of USPAP through the convenience of home study which avoids the need to suffer the expenses and inconveniences associated with having to travel to an on-site offering. Go to USPAP Update Course Homepage Each course follows the instructional material developed by The Appraisal Foundation as published in the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course Student Manual, but from a personal property appraiser's perspective. The Appraisal Foundation has published guidelines for course developers who are designing USPAP courses such as ACA's Online USPAP Update Course (2010 version). We are pleased to report that our course satisfies or exceeds all of The Appraisal Foundation's course requirements. The goal of ACA's Online USPAP Update Courses is to make the appraiser aware of changes that were incorporated into USPAP since the student last completed the 15-hour National USPAP Course and passed the exam. The courses also review important and often misunderstood USPAP issues that are frequently encountered in daily appraisal practice.
NOTE: A 2012-2013 USPAP Personal Property Update Course is in development and is expected to be available in January 2012. This new course is for appraisers who successfully passed the 15-hour National USPAP Course during 2010-2011, or have remained updated for each USPAP biennial publication cycle since their last 15-Hour USPAP Course. Remaining update is accomplished through taking USPAP update courses such as the above. These online courses are designed with the personal property appraiser in mind by making use of many personal property related real world scenarios as well as a major case study. Each course introduces ACA’s hypothetical appraiser, John Morgan, who is an experienced generalist personal property appraiser striving to understand and comply with his USPAP obligations. Through John’s appraisal challenges, the student will better understand USPAP’s Appraisal Process and how USPAP applies to frequently-encountered appraisal problems. While ideal for the personal property appraiser, these courses are not appropriate for real property appraisers as they do not meet state licensing or certification requirements for real property appraisers. Real property appraisers who need an update course for licensing, certification or professional society credentialing purposes should attend a USPAP Update course that has been approved by their state licensing regulatory agency. These courses has been developed and are taught by AQB-Certified USPAP instructor, Bill Novotny, and they are equivalent to TAF’s 7-hour National USPAP Update Course. USPAP courses taught by Mr. Novotny have been accepted by all personal property appraisal societies. |
